Styling coffee table techniques can inevitably transform your table into the focal point of your living room, and styling them with intention, not only makes it useful, but an accent to a piece that ties your space and style by applying the finishing touches. In another post we will discuss the different types of coffee table layouts and uses depending on your flow and use for the room but here are some quick tips on styling your coffee table for practical and visual purposes.
- Consider the use and style of the table. Less is more, and keeping it simple is best. If the coffee table is visually interesting on its own, keeping the styling to a minimum lets the table’s qualities do the talking.
- Start with sectioning the table top into 2 or 3 parts. I like to create a cluster of items in each section.
- Textures are important, this gives your styling dimension.
- Playing with levels is key, to create a visual landscape that feels balanced and engaging. Adding vases and taller objects, with lover blows and clusters of books.
- Create contrast by incorporating shapes, round bowls within squared trays.
- Boxes, to store remotes and small items.
- Trays! A great way to anchor the styling within your table, and then build from there.
